About

Steering wheel for disabled drivers

Aido is an advanced steering wheel designed for everyday use. The design is composed of an inner and outer wheel. The outer wheel is for turns of 90 degrees, while the inner allows for turns of up to 360 degrees. The outer wheel functions in the conventional manner, with the user positioning both hands on either side for maximum stability. The inner wheel uses an ergonomic steering knob, and when rotated, separates from the central panel to allow a free and agile turn. This added flexibility reduces the risk of crossing hands while also enabling a quicker revolution. The car’s brake and acceleration can be manipulated through a single push/pull lever on the opposite side to the knob. The flexible system of the Aido enables an enhanced driving experience through a considered reworking of the common steering wheel.
