# 2018 Bayti |
|
Bayti is an architectural strategy designed to incorporate residents in the design of temporary housing for refugees. The project is composed of three parts. In the first stage, migrants are connected to local non-governmental organizations in order to collaborate on the design of refugee communities and individual dwellings. In the second, the units are erected, based on an industrial process of modifying pre-fabricated greenhouses. Finally, a series of workshops is organized in order to deepen the engagement of residents and encourage further personalization of their houses. Through this effort, Bayti proposes a new approach to the design and construction of temporary settlements, replacing the current one-size-fits-all model with a participatory system that empowers residents to design the space according to their interests and culture.
After a license at Strasbourg university in the design sector and decorative arts, I joined The School of design in bachelor Interior design cycle. After an internship at Olivier Rigate in Strasbourg and Neil Wilson Design as junior internal architect in Newcastle in the United Kingdom, I followed the program of cycle Master's degree, Mutations of the built environment and sustainable cities. My particular interest in the social design led me to be interested in the passing housing environment: live in the urgency. My internship at Encore Heureux in Paris consolidated me in the collaborative vision of a design worried about its environment. I was awarded a diploma by the school in September, 2017 with a highest distinction and received the congratulations of the jury during my defense of the end of studies. Now, I work at Naco like an interior designer.more
