Dot

About

Modular system of furniture that can be adjusted by users

Dot is a system of variable modular furniture, designed to aid space-saving in dense urban areas. Dot consists of only three simple components: two side boards with a customisable number of holes, horizontal rods, and locking bolts. To construct the furniture, users insert both ends of the rod into their chosen holes, creating a solid and dependable crossbeam, and lock them into place using the bolts. The modular system allows users to repeat this process, creating numerous shapes for shelving, seating, or shelter. When the furniture is no longer needed, the user can either flat-pack it away, or re-configure it into another piece. Usable inside or outside, Dot reduces the waste of both material and space, enhancing urban living under increasing spatial constraints.
