About

Graphene sensors for real-time structural health monitoring

GraphIT harnesses graphene-based sensor coatings for real-time Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of critical structures. Addressing challenges in detecting damage, especially in hard-to-reach locations, GraphIT utilises graphene's remarkable properties for early damage detection, efficient maintenance, and cost savings. By averting catastrophic failures, such as bridge collapses and wind turbine accidents, the project safeguards lives and property. With potential applications spanning aerospace, defence, and automotive industries, GraphIT is pioneering a new era in infrastructure safety and sustainability.
