impActo is a mobile application that helps people avoid overuse of plastic in their everyday lives. The app is composed of three sections: a products category, in which plastic-free alternatives are rated according to the amount of plastic and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions avoided; a lifestyle category, in which basic lifestyle changes are suggested that would reduce plastic use; and a people category, to which experts contribute articles and advice. The user’s progress is tracked through the app, so that they can chart how their purchases and lifestyle choices are impacting on the environment.
