# 2017 Muhimu |
Muhimu is a supportive service for deaf students in the classroom which translates speech into accessible, tactile and visual information. Using sound tracking technology that analyses and filters surrounding noise, the user can engage with spoken sound through vibratory patterns in the Muhimu ring, or visual patterns in the Muhimu app. Students are also able to add to their own library of sounds, and customise the visual and vibrational patterns to their liking. By relieving the visual overload and interpreter dependency that deaf students traditionally face in the classroom, Muhimu allows deaf children a more seamless integration into the traditional school environment.
