About

Brain-controlled robotic glove for stroke rehabilitation

Strokes cause more motor disabilities than any other disease. 70% of survivors are not able to return to work.

Exobots is a neurological rehabilitation tool. It utilises a robotic exoskeleton glove worn by the patient who is asked to imagine their hand moving (motor imagery). This activates the brain’s motor cortex, the signal is captured through EEG and prompts the glove to move, promoting neuroplasticity, i.e., the ability of the brain to make new connections and replace those that are damaged.
