# 2017 New Ways of Seeing Mobile Interface Design for Baby Boomers |
The New Ways… project redesigns the mobile interface for the pre-mobile generation. Born around the middle of the twentieth century, ‘baby boomers’ are an age group distanced from today’s tech-immersed youth. By using gestures that replicate everyday physical actions, New Ways… allows users to apply their existing knowledge and behaviour to the operation of a smartphone. In addition, the interface replaces multi-step interactions with a friendlier single-step interaction - A to B, instead of A to B via C and D. By reducing the learning curve, the New Ways… project also reduces intimidation, making new technology accessible to all generations.
