Odor Hand Strips

About

Keeping Our Hands Away From Our Face

People touch their faces an astonishing 23 times an hour on average. Unfortunately, we do so unconsciously and hence it is challenging to curb this habit which forms part of our basic bodily maintenance. Odor Hand Strips leverage on our olfactory response to ‘nasty’ smell to keep our hands away from our faces. Each hand strip contains a gauze which is lightly saturated with ammonium sulfide - as our hands unconsciously inch close towards our faces, we are greeted by the odor which instinctively nudges us to keep clear.

I have always perceived design as a conversation between people and the encompassing environment. To me, common sense is thus crucial and is often the cornerstone for successful translations. My philosophy is therefore to design with sensitivity such that it is simple, engaging and pleasurable. Curious about the motivations behind interactions and people’s behaviour, I observe, tinker and question the world around me. Such knowledge empowers me to explore various domains from product, service, interaction, branding to medical, spatial and exploratory design.more
