# 2017 Rolar |
Rolar is a series of blinds that capture and store solar energy. Common methods of capturing solar energy, such as solar panels, often require the user to own his or her roof. For users in multi-unit buildings, this often means that the installation of solar panels is either impossible or enormously time consuming. Rolar blinds, however, attach to a more available alternative: the window. By using printed solar technology, the blinds collect and convert solar energy in the same way that panels do. Battery packs in the pull-down bar at the bottom of the blind store the energy, which is made easily accessible through USB ports. Rolar blinds provide users with renewable energy, while shading them from the sun’s glare.
