A flexible, easy to assemble 3D printed orthosis that adapts to the patient’s needs

Saphten is an innovative, dynamic, self-adjusting anti-spastic orthosis. It is manufactured through 3D printing using recycled plastics, and allows flexion and extension without having to use a complex mechanism with many parts. This is a major advance on the current dynamic orthoses which are made up of many parts and a wide variety of materials. The patient can wear a Saphten orthosis for longer periods of time, because he can adjust the tension according to their needs, therefore their recovery rate will be improved.

I try to work through a systematic innovation process, paying special attention to the needs of the patient and in order to fully understand the problem, I seek to generate a value impact on conventional methods and the user experience.more
