# 2021 The Disappearing Package |
The Disappearing Package is a project to make clothing packaging sustainable, or even ‘disappear’, after use. It is manufactured from detergent that will dissolve in the washing machine. Second hand clothes retailers - popular with customers already motivated to recycle - will be ideal candidates as users of this packaging, as they can encourage users to recycle the package in the washing machine together with the item they bought. The chosen material is strong, offers temporary water resistance, and it is fully soluble at 40°C. The project can be seen as an inspiration towards a circular economy.
