Wudu Drop

About

Device for Muslim travelers’ cleansing ritual

Wudu Drop is a portable system that allows Muslims to conveniently perform wudu, a form of ritual cleansing, in public places. Wudu Drop provides users with a stock of easily transportable water capsules. Users puncture the capsule’s outer membrane to access the water within. The water can then be used to discreetly wash the hands, mouth, nostrils, arms, head, and feet. The project is inspired by the difficulties many Muslim travelers encounter when attempting to perform wudu in public places, including the wasting of water, the misunderstanding of non-Muslim observers, and the ergonomic challenges faced by disabled users.

I am an ordinary person who dreams to be an extraordinary person one day. Was born and grown up in Malaysia and enjoy drawing since little. Falling in love with designing especially industrial design since 2010 while I was doing my BA, as I realised that every part of the design which was made for goods or products has its own reason and lot of thought has been given to it before it was manufactured. It is just a matter of fact that people know of the meaning and the reason behind that particular design or not, which I found it very intriguing. Hoping to discover more charms of the design, I pursue my studies in MA Industrial Design at Central Saint Martins in 2015. The more I learned I figure out that there are more things that I did not know. Therefore design never get me bored and by designing and making things, I feel like I could enjoy my life more.more
