Joseph Aristotle de Leon is a founding member of team CANTELA. He takes the ladderized bachelor’s and master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering and Management at De La Salle University-Manila. He enjoys two scholarships: the Vaugirard Scholarship Program from the university, and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Merit Scholarship from the Philippine government. He is passionate in finding ways to integrate smart city technologies and infrastructures to rural and impoverished communities. He has a strong foundation in academic, journalism and research excellence, service and leadership as manifested by honors and citations received until present. He was recipient of the prestigious Student Excellence in Academics and Leadership (SEAL) in Albay, Gerry Roxas Leadership and Honorary Student City Mayor of Legazpi City. He is currently the Vice-President for Academics of the Society for Manufacturing Engineers in DLSU. In his spare time, he enjoys doing experiments and projects related to his interests.
