Maral is an engineering DPhil researcher at the University of Oxford, a Keeley Scholar of Wadham college, supported by an Industrial Fellowship from the 1851 Royal Commission. Her research is on making mining more sustainable through creating a remote, satellite based early warning system for the monitoring of mine waste. Maral is also a senior Earth Observation Consultant at the Satellite Applications Catapult, the UK government-backed innovation and technology hub. Previously, she worked as a Remote Sensing Analyst at Airbus Defence and Space, and holds an MSci in Geology from the University of Bristol.
