Marco F. D’Elia is a chemist born on September 28 in Como, Italy. He got his BS in Chemistry from University of Insubria in 2015 and then his MSc in Industrial Chemistry from University of Milan in 2018 completing his MSc thesis as exchange student at ETH Zürich in the group of multifunctional materials developing a new photoluminescent anticorrosion coating based on poly(phenylene methylene). He continued this work during is PhD concluded in 2022, achieving the Spark award for the best ETH invention in 2023. After a period in industry, Marco came back to ETH Zurich to commercialize this invention.
