Emeritus Prof. Karim Allaf and his team have pioneered innovative bacterial mechanical decontamination techniques, specifically targeting spores and sensitive raw natural materials. They have also developed groundbreaking drying processes, deodorization operations for various raw materials (e.g., vegetable oils, medicinal plants), and advanced extraction technologies.
Prof. Allaf holds 9 patents with 17 extensions, has published 192 international papers, and delivered 166 presentations at international congresses. His contributions include numerous European and industrial reports (34). Since 1993, he has mentored 49 Ph.D. candidates and coordinated 8 European projects.
