The National Institute of Design, Andhra Pradesh (NID AP), established in 2015, is an autonomous multidisciplinary design institute under the DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. Recognized as an Institute of National Importance, NID AP offers a four-year Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program with specializations in Industrial Design, Communication Design, and Textile & Apparel Design, admitting 25 students per specialization annually. Initially operating from Acharya Nagarjuna University, the institute relocated in 2024 to its state-of-the-art 50-acre permanent campus in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. The new campus features cutting-edge studios, a Knowledge Management Centre, and IT labs to foster an enriching design education environment. Admissions are based on the NID Design Aptitude Test (NID DAT), ensuring a competitive and skilled intake. With a curriculum that integrates grassroots and global design perspectives, NID AP emphasizes practical experience and industry collaboration, preparing students to innovate and excel in the design field.
