About
Polyurethane foam which is widely used as a cushioning and seating solution is a threat to the environment and the health of its users. Auxoide is flat textile which forms a 3D shape when bent, offering the springiness of a cushion. The system provides the same support as polyurethane foams, while allowing good ventilation and regulation of body heat, making it more hygienic. The material is recyclable and can be further developed to build complex shapes and applications for furniture.

Lund University
Gianluca is a Material & Innovation Developer based in Sweden. He comes from an international background of industrial design, developing new materials and technologies, with a focus on textile and innovative CMF. He looks at finding the right balance between industrial design and material design, promoting sustainable and scalable choices and empowering solutions for the people and the planet. Today he conducts R&D projects in a Swedish design agency where he experiments with new materials and techniques in the field of consumer electronics.
