Burj Shadow

Burj Shadow

About

The Burj Shadow is a film following the rotation of the world’s longest shadow cast by a man-made structure. Positioned atop the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, a custom-made rotation rig followed the building’s shadow from sunrise to sunset. A high-quality camera attached took photographs every twenty seconds, creating a stop-motion trace of the Earth’s orbit. Standing 700m above sea-level, the Burj Khalifa acts as a giant sundial. The Burj Shadow captures this effect and encourages a greater understanding of our positioning within the solar system.
