Re-Tex

Re-Tex

About

India is the world’s second largest clothing manufacturing country, producing over 1600 tons of textile waste before a garment reaches its consumer. Environmental and social challenges arise due to the decentralised nature of the industry where manufacture is carried out in a household environment. Re-Tex has developed an innovative local recycling framework that utilises pre-consumer textile waste to create new materials for circular fashion production, fuelling the development of local fashion systems at a community level and benefitting the environment.
