Sixth Sense is an ‘appcessory’ system designed to aid management of Type One Insulin Dependent Diabetes (T1D) for parents and caregivers. Inspired by the abilities of Medical Assistive Dogs to detect changes in human scent that reflect blood sugar levels, the app monitors, or ‘sniffs’, the levels of volatile organic compounds emitted through the skin and breath of the user. Sixth Sense aids the diabetic’s self-awareness and relieves reliance on caregivers.
