Anteseedent tackles the problem of high importation of food and crops in the UAE, the project offers research and educational spaces that focus on developing crops that can withstand the local climate and soil salinity levels. The research illustrates how the life of a plant begins with the seed in a protected vault underneath the soil until it is strong enough to penetrate the surface. The purpose of this project is to preserve local seeds of the UAE and work on enhancing future crops in response to the continuing decline of climate that magnifies food security threats to the UAE which already has a harsh climate. Additionally, the project provides spaces to educate the public on seed science, food security, crop biodiversity and other related topics.
