iGO

Project Overview
About
iGO is a communication interface that allows blind people to drive autonomous vehicles. It employs a system consisting of a voice assistant that allows users to enter detailed information, and a tactile controller to confirm or deny commands given by the system. Interviews, literature and statements by blind people helped to identify the key values for the project: feeling of safety, effectiveness, and communication efficiency. Autonomous vehicle technology opens up uncharted possibilities, especially for visually impaired people for whom driving a conventional vehicle is not feasible.
