Smart Rehabilitation Garment is an article of therapeutic clothing composed of integrated smart textiles and wearable electronics. Working in synch with a dedicated smart phone application, the garment detects movements or positions that are in excess of the set range. The user receives feedback from a vibration motor and the phone’s visual and audio feedback in order to make necessary adjustments to prevent spinal pain and improve posture.

Qi Wang is currently a PhD candidate from Industrial Design department of Tu/e. Her research revolves wearable technology in the domain of motor learning and rehabilitation. She focuses on the integration of smart textiles and wearable electronics. Designing and prototyping innovative wearable products for posture correction are the long-term goal of her research. Previously, she has been awarded 3 Red Dot Concept Award and 1 IDEA Silver Award.
