Urban monitoring often depends on overhead satellite data or standard street imagery, limiting the detail and types of environmental conditions that can be measured. UrbanScapes combines visible, near-infrared and thermal cameras in a modular system that can be carried by pedestrians or mounted on bicycles and vehicles. On-device AI removes personally identifiable information before the images are stored or shared. Combined with satellite imagery, the street-level data can generate environmental indicators at city scale, supporting more detailed analysis and better-informed climate adaptation planning.
