Algaverse

Project Overview
About
Heavy reliance on synthetic fertilisers contributes to soil degradation, nutrient pollution and rising costs for farmers. Algaverse produces a microalgae-based biofertiliser that acts as both a nutrient source and a soil conditioner. It is designed to improve microbial diversity, retain nutrients and moisture, and support healthier crop growth. Laboratory work and pilots in two districts of Sindh, Pakistan, have reported improved soil organic carbon, crop production and irrigation efficiency. The technology could support lower-input farming, restore degraded or saline soils and strengthen livelihoods in vulnerable agricultural communities.
