Neonomads Shelter

Neonomads Shelter

About

Neonomads Shelter is a tent designed for research scientists on a protected desert site. It consists of a shaded area for rest, a fireplace and storage units. This project reinterprets traditional tent design, retaining its ease of assembly, lightweight nature and basic functionality, while experimenting with component materials, overall form and connection details. The shelter’s eight bent aluminium pipe loops are interlocked to form the ‘bones’ beneath a laser cut nylon ‘skin’, which provides relief from the sun and wind, while giving a degree of privacy to the inhabitants of the shelter.
