SUNSOLO

SUNSOLO

About

Urban buildings often have limited roof space for conventional solar panels and remain dependent on centralised energy supplies. SUNSOLO is a transparent, building-integrated panel designed to produce hydrogen using sunlight and water. A dye-sensitised solar cell captures both direct and diffuse light, generating electricity that powers a second cell to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. Designed for façades, windows and other architectural surfaces, the system could expand urban solar-energy generation, provide locally produced clean fuel and strengthen energy resilience.
