About

The KANUD is a digital musical instrument and application. It is a hybrid device, based on two stringed Arabic instruments, the kanun and the oud. The KANUD’s application enables users to select one music scale out of eight possibilities and to record their performance along with music visualizations. Based on the principles and aesthetics of Arabic music theories, The KANUD offers novel and creative pathways to music creation.
