About

This innovation enhances the safety and efficacy of Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT), a precision treatment for solid tumours that destroys cancer cells while sparing healthy tissue. A modular nanoparticle platform using ultra-small elemental boron cores wrapped in protein shells and encapsulated within targeted liposomes, achieves higher tumour selectivity and sustained intratumoural boron levels. The outcome is effective dosing with lower systemic exposure and smaller drug quantities, paving the way for more affordable, accessible cancer care

Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology

Vsevolod, a 26-year-old PhD candidate at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), is an emerging expert in biophysics who has already carved a niche in the study of iron-storing ferritin proteins. His academic journey is marked by significant achievements, underscored by a number of publications in prestigious scientific journals, including Nature Structural & Molecular Biology. His unique skill set has proven invaluable beyond his primary research, most notably when he breathed new life into a Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) project by introducing a crucial biological perspective, thereby significantly expanding the team's competencies.
