MimoSense
Turning the bed into a silent health monitor, with a thin pad that tracks heart rate and breathing through the mattress.

MimoSense is a TU Darmstadt spin-off founded in 2024 by Dr Omar Ben Dali and Dr Romol Chadda to bring more than 20 years of piezoelectric materials research into everyday healthcare. Its patented 0.3 mm sensor film, inspired by human skin, picks up the tiny vibrations of every heartbeat and breath right through the mattress. Its first product, MimoPad, is a textile pad placed once under the mattress that measures heart rate, heart rate variability, breathing rate, movement and bed occupancy, with no wearables or cameras. With paid pilots and development kits in use on five continents, and a clinical pilot with Dubai Health underway, MimoSense is building the evidence base for medical certification and entry into the GCC.

The New Benchmark in Sleep Sensing Technology
MimoSense’s sensor film captures static pressure and micro-vibrations in a single flexible layer and uses embedded AI to turn them into vital signs, without touching the skin. Because we spend a third of our lives in bed, MimoPad gives a reliable, long-term picture of health with nothing for the user to wear, charge or remember.
