The Challenge
The MENA and African regions spend over $400 billion annually on F&B and pharmaceutical raw materials, with 95% of that supply imported. Manufacturers face shipment delays of 6 to 9 months, costs that are 80%+ higher than production-origin pricing, and virtually no local suppliers or innovation infrastructure. Meanwhile, millions of tonnes of agricultural by-products such as palm waste, fruit peels, and crop residues are burned or landfilled each year, creating pollution and destroying potential value. The result is a broken, import-dependent supply chain that is expensive, fragile, and environmentally damaging.
The Solution
P-Vita uses patented biotechnology and AI driven production to convert agricultural waste, primarily palm residues, into natural, cost-effective raw materials for the food, beverage, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries. Its lead product, beta-carotene, is produced at 75% lower cost and 40% higher yield than conventional methods, using a modified algae strain and IoT optimised processes. Rather than building its own manufacturing plants, P-Vita licenses its technology through a B2B franchise model, providing production specs, training, and quality assurance to partners who set up and operate their own lines. This asset-light approach enables rapid regional scale-up while creating local jobs and new revenue streams for farmers.

P-Vita is an Egypt-born, UAE-expanding biotech company building the know-how to produce natural raw materials locally across MENA and Africa. The company operates four R&D labs in Egypt, partners with institutions including Zewail City and Nile University, and has a pipeline of 300+ products targeting the same import-dependent markets. With 150 kg of beta-carotene already produced and sold, seven manufacturers in licensing discussions, and backing from 500 Global, WFP and UNICEF, P-Vita is positioned to become the region's leading bio-ingredients platform.
